Jammu : Bapu Asaram's Bhagwati Nagar Ashram case
In a much publicized Bapu Asaram's Bhagwati Nagar Ashram Case in which contempt petition was filed by one Vikrant Sharma a complainant, seeking initiation of contempt proceedinsg against Home, Secy, DGP, SP City North and SHO Naowabad for willful and intentional disobidence of the order passed by the High Court in which it was directed by the High Court to SIT that they shall make all out efforts to get hold of the accused by resorting to all legally permissible coercive methods and bring the investigation to logical conclusion within a reasonable span of time and submit status report on weekly basis.
Justice Bansi Lal Bhat of J&K High Court Jammu Wing after hearing Sr. Adv MK Bhardwaj with Advocatye Gagan Kohli appearing for the petitioner, observed that in terms of earlier order, SIT Was directed to make all out efforts to get hold of the accused and bring the investigation to its logical conclusion and also directed to keep the this Court informed of the developments on weekly basis and no status report has since been filed and directed Registry to list this case on April 22, 2016 with a direction to the Head of the SIT to appear in person and submit the CD file for perusal.
A cording to the police in the the complainant Vikrant Sharma submitted written complaint before the Duty Magistrate Jammu stating therein that the complainant is resident of Bhagwati Nagar Jammu and was one of the devotee of the Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand Bholla Nath who was Incharge of Bapu Asaram Bhagwati Nagar Ashram in the year 2008-09. During this period, the complainant used to visit the Ashram daily and was having close association with the Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand. In the month of September, 2013 when Asaram was arrested, the accused started contacting the complainant on his telephone no. 9797418663 from his telephone Nos. 9920137719,7506137501 and 8080598279 and few others numbers and tried to seek help from complainant for creating evidence in order to implicate Asaram Bapu. Initially the complainant was astonished to hear from the Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand about his intention but gradually he came to know that he was trying to implicate Asaram Bapu in false case and then complainant informed Narinder Singh S/o Shiv Narian Singh and some other persons and on their advise started recording the telephone conversation of the Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand and in order to know the truth started posing himself to be acting on his advise. The Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand first of all asked the complainant to give him the telephone number of Prajapati and asked the complainant to arrange some girls or lady who can level false allegations on Asaram and identity of those girls shall not be disclosed. He also asked the complainant to help him in creating false evidence so that whole of the family of Asaram is sent to jail. The Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand appeared in news channel and stated that there are dead bodies of children buried in the Bhagwati Nagar Ashram of Bapu Asaram and after that the said Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand asked the complainant to arrange the skelton of dead persons and when the complainant told the Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand that from where he would arrange the skelton, the Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand asked the complainant to remove the skeltons from muslim graveyard and bury them in Bhagwati Nagar Ashram and then the Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand would come with media and show the place where he has stated about the burial of the children. The Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand informed him that nobody had yet paid the money to him and media had also promised him the money but has not paid. The Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand told that he is going out and would not allow the Asaram to come out and told him that he was playing a big game and the Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand also promised that he would arrange setting of the girls complainant for two three days at Mumbai after creating false evidence against Asaram.
